Benchmarking Day 2025 in Cagliari will be held on Friday 28 February.
The event, in which Icarus Technology will take part, is an integral part of the Cagliari DLAB Acceleration Programme, a path dedicated to innovative start-ups and Italian teams operating in the development of technological and organisational innovations and business models based on emerging technologies.
The programme enables those who want to set up a business to better define their service and/or product idea and test it, first and foremost from a technological perspective.
The event is conceived by the University of Cagliari, organised by CREA UniCA House of Emerging Technologies with the scientific support of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UniCA.

Strengthening the main distinctive competences of each individual startup Validation of the identified business model Turnover development Open Innovation Internationalisation Creation of contacts, opportunities and industrial, commercial and financial relationships expendable at the end of the Programme. During the event, start-ups can benefit from:
Seminars and training (also available online) Support in the preparation of pitches Presentation to companies/ventures Support in development in lean mode Testing on a group of users Review of business model Construction of final pitch Support in the search for funding Startups are supported by a mentor who conveys his or her specialist skills to ensure immediate progress.
In addition, during the Programme, start-ups are supported by advisors and experts to optimise time, complete tasks more quickly, achieve set goals and overcome obstacles in the start-up phase.
The Acceleration Programme, in addition to the Benchmarking Day, includes:
Three Sneak Peeks Open Innovation Meetings Meetings with a researcher, an entrepreneur and an investor A Demo Day, at which start-ups are the protagonists of a pitch session in front of an audience of potential investors (funds, corporate venture capital, business angels). The Programme lasts four months and is divided into four phases:
Program Kick Off: one week to create contact between the startups and the Programme partners through seminars and presentations Defining the initial validation plan: four weeks to review the startups’ value proposition and define a validation plan Traction: eight weeks to validate the sales plan and develop the activities foreseen for the technical plan Demo Day: two weeks to prepare the start-ups’ final pitches in view of fundraising during the final event During the entire duration of the programme, the selected start-ups have co-working spaces at the Cagliari accelerator and can participate in thematic meetings, workshops, video seminars, customised consultancy with industry experts, peer review sessions, and meetings with investors and potential customers.
